Malcolm Hayday, Charity Bankin yksi perustajista vierailee Suomessa 11.-14.9.2017
Rahoitusvoimala-valmennusohjelman vieraaksi syyskuussa 2017 saapuu Malcolm Hayday, englantilaisen Charity Bankin perustajajäsen.
Charity Bank on Iso-Britannian ensimmäinen rahoitusinstituutio, joka tarjoaa lainoja ainoastaan yleishyödyllisille toimijoille, voittoa tavoittelemattomille yhdistyksille ja yhteiskunnallisille yrityksille. Kahdenkymmenen toimintavuotensa aikana pankki on kasvanut taloudellisesti järkeväksi ja täysin yleishyödyllisten yhteisöjen omistamaksi. Pankki pitää huolta säästöistä ja sijoituksista ja tarjoaa arvopohjaisille yrityksille ja yhdistyksille lainoja yhteensä 188 miljoonan punnan arvosta.
Malcolm Haydayn vierailulla on kaksi tavoitetta:
- Tarjota mahdollisuus arvopohjaisille yhteisöille ja yrittäjille oppia Malcomin pitkästä kokemuksesta rahoittamisesta ja rahoitusvalmiuksien arvioimisesta
- Tuoda uusia virtauksia Suomessa käytävään keskusteluun eettisestä pankkitoiminnasta

Malcolm Hayday
CBE, FRSA Disruptive thinker and social banker
Malcolm graduated from the University of Exeter having studied economics. For the next 20 years he worked in the interesting bits of mainstream international banking before fleeing in search of a more meaningful life.
For the last 25 years he has been part of the social finance movement, principally conceiving, creating and being the founding chief executive of The Charity Bank in the UK, the world’s only registered general charity that was also an authorised bank. During that time, he was also chair of the Big Issue Foundation, a member of the World Economic Forum advisory group of global foundation leaders, a founding board member of the Community Development Finance Association, and Board Member and President of the International Association of Investors in the Social Economy, a network that has included in the past Merkur, Cultura, Ekobanken and JAK Bank. In 2014 Malcolm coordinated and lead wrote the peer reviewed, citizens’ response to the UNEP Inquiry into the design of a sustainable financial system
Today, Malcolm is a senior fellow of the Finance Innovation Lab, UK; an associate of the Institute for Social Banking, Germany; Board Member of the Southwestern Housing Society, UK; and an external credit committee member for RM Capital Markets, UK. He is a member and chair of the ethics committee of FESCOOP, a new financial coop in Portugal; and one of 5 ‘experts’ working with the European Commission DG1A on a programme to increase access to finance for social enterprises. In this capacity, he co-authored the Recipe Book for Social Finance. Recently he translated into English a French treatise on money: Money, Money….Values by Jean-Pierre Caron, published in summer 2017.
Malcolm will share with us some things he has learnt on this road less travelled towards a more values based society. In his other time he tries to cultivate a desert garden in Andalucia and to search for and observe cetaceans in their natural habitat.
